Fount Magic de Mont Juice

The spectacular water and light display in Place de les Cascades is a must when you visit Barcelona. Don't stand too close though or you get rather damp!!

The Gothic Quarter

Our first morning was spent exploring the Gothic Quarter which is truly beautiful with tall buildings and some exquisitely painted facades.

Basilica de la Merce

Hidden in the heart of the Gothic Quarter we stumbled across this beautiful Basilica. In a Baroque style work began in 1765 after the medieval church on the site was demolished. Well worth a visit.

Montjuic Cemetary

Here they bury their dead above ground. The cometary is open to the public to wander through and has a quiet and respectful nature about it. Interned here are nearly 1,000,000 people in over 150,000 graves some of which needed to have been purchased 30 years before your death.

Mercat Josep

This market has been trading on this site for almost 200 years and within its boundaries you can find any food you can think of. From snacks to full weeks shops. Must see.

Antoni Gaudi

We spend a happy morning exploring the heart fo the Gaudi architecture. We visited Casa Vicens, Casa Batio, Casa Calvert, Casa Mila and Guell Palace and were totally immersed in him all morning. Happy, happy peeps.

La Sagrada Familia

This was without exception the greatest building that we have ever stepped foot in. From the moment you arrive on the street below the towering structure you cannot help but be blown away. Please, if you do nothing else in your life, go and see this truly stunning building.
