Herculaneum
We first learnt of this historical place whilst at infant school and we have both waited many years to visit and it was definitely worth it.
An amazing historical site that provokes many thoughts and emotions as you learn about the lives of the people who lived here and about what they were doing in the moments before they died.

Intact floors and kitchens
Nearly 2000 years after being buried by the volcano, there are still floors with intact mosaics and full outdoor kitchens to be seen. There are also still paintings on the walls.

Bit warm for sleeping in...
There are the charred remains of beds and other furniture that still remain in the ruins of Herculaneum.
